MCM International - Shopping Cart Redesign
MCM is a luxury fashion brand from Munich, known for its iconic backpacks and accessories with global reach. While working at the First Principle design agency, MCM approached us with the task of redesigning their cart flow. I was put in-charge of this project to build a new checkout system utilizing the best industry standards of the time.
Research showed that most paid interactions occur on mobile screens, so we prioritized optimizing the mobile interface before desktop. We focused on making it easy for users to navigate the cart, review items, and complete transactions. The design is still in use today, several years later.
Mobile Experience
For the mobile interface, we focused on creating a streamlined experience that would work seamlessly across different device sizes. The design prioritizes the most important information while maintaining easy access to all features.
Special attention was paid to touch interactions, ensuring that buttons and interactive elements were appropriately sized and spaced for comfortable use on smaller screens.
Desktop Experience
The desktop experience was designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the cart contents while maintaining easy access to key actions. The layout utilizes the additional screen space to display more information without overwhelming the user.
Each element was carefully positioned to create a natural flow from cart review to checkout, with clear calls-to-action and intuitive navigation patterns.
